Townley appointed to energy council

State Rep. Tammy Townley, R-Ardmore, recently was appointed to the Energy Council, a nonpartisan legislative organization that focuses on energy and environmental policy.
Townley was appointed by House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, and will serve as a member-at-large.
“I am so appreciative of Speaker McCall’s appointment and faith in me to serve in this role,” Townley said. “Energy is a vital part of Oklahoma’s economy and is an industry in which many of my constituents work. I look forward to working with the Energy Council in the future, learning from the other members and representing Oklahoma in the national conversation about energy policy.”
The Energy Council is a nonprofit organization that promotes a balanced national energy strategy and related environmental policies. The Council also endeavors to promote an understanding of energy and its role in the global economy and environment to assist legislators in their policymaking efforts in their respective states.
