The 2021 tee ball season started off with a bang! Ninety-four three, four, five and six year-olds came out to play this year in two different groups: non-competitive for the young group and competitive for the older group.
The non-competitive group had five teams of eager young tee ballers. The term non-competitive is an inaccurate depiction of that age group. One coach remarked that it was similar to “herding cats,” but they were a lot of fun to watch and we all got a lot of enjoyment out of watching them.
The competitive group was especially exciting to watch this year! Each of the five teams was vying for a placing that included a trophy and bragging rights for another year. After ten action packed games in four weeks, the final placings were as follows: First place, City Drug; second place, Bad Boy Motorsports; third place, Rhodes Chiropractic; fourth place, Las Cascadas; and fifth place, The Davis News.
The season culminated with a trophy ceremony on Saturday morning, May 1. The morning started with two back to back non-competitive teams to finish out their season.
Following the games, each team took the field and received their official glow in the dark tee ball trophy. After a group photo, the competitive teams took the field. First place was awarded team rings and the second through fifth place teams received trophies. After another group photo the season was officially over.
We had an awesome group of local business sponsor both sets of teams this year. Non-competitive sponsors were Blankenship Real Estate, Chigley & Co, Chris Foster Trucking, Jones Jewelry and Sooner Pharmacy.
Competitive team sponsors were Bad Boy Motorsports, City Drug, Las Cascadas, Rhodes Chiropractic and The Davis News. We are very appreciative of all our sponsors, coaches, parents and, especially, the kiddos who love to play the game!
