Richard Dwayne Baker

Richard Dwayne Baker of Sulphur was born Aug. 2, 1952 in Duncan to  Melvin and Virginia (Reagan) Baker.  He died Sept. 19, 2021, in Sulphur at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 17 days. Baker grew up in Duncan where he graduated from Duncan High School. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Debbie Dill  on Sept. 4, 1969, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He started working in the oilfield after high school and continued this work for over twenty years including working overseas. After returning to the United States, he began working in the corporate world. Even though he was officially retired, he never stopped working on his many auctions and on the land he so loved.
Baker is survived by his wife,  Debbie Baker, of Sulphur; daughter, Angela Reed, of Norman; son, Rick Baker, of Rector, Ark.; sister, Barbara Connel; brother, Gary Baker; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services were held Sept. 21, 2021, at Crossway First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bill Leveridge. Arrangements under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.
