Popkess graduates from Chamber Management Institute

Monica Popkess (left), Executive Director of the Davis Chamber of Commerce, was in a class of 14 that graduated from the Chamber Management Institute at a ceremony in Bartlesville recently.

The Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives (OCCE) honored 14 graduates of the organization’s Chamber Management Institute (CMI) at the 2021 Annual Conference and Awards, that was held at Bartlesville’s Hilton Garden Inn. Monica Popkess, Executive Director, Davis Chamber of Commerce and Anna Lawrence, Executive Director, Sulphur Chamber of Commerce were both among the 14 graduates of the course.
The CMI sessions, which took place over a four-month period, cover the fundamentals of a chamber of commerce, financials, board development, economic and community development, tourism, membership recruitment and retention, and communication strategies.
“CMI is an extremely valuable program for the professional development of chamber of commerce professionals,” said 2021 OCCE Board Chair Sherri Wing-Marsico. “Through the years, this program has equipped hundreds of professionals from across the state with the tools and knowledge to lead their chambers and communities.”
