Freda Lee Sluder

Services for Freda Lee Sluder will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Ada, with Pastor Derrick Marshall officiating.
Freda was born Jan. 25, 1959, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Andrew Edmerson and Florence Joann (Kinkade) Barnes. She passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, in Ada, at the age of 63 years and 9 days. Freda married the love of her life, Randy Dennis Sluder on Oct. 7, 1977, in Trenton, Mich. From this marriage were born three daughters, Sandi, Amy and Brandy.
Freda grew up in Trenton. Following high school, she and Randy began a family. They soon moved to Edmond where they raised their family. Freda was a very loving and devoted mother to her daughters. She was always active in their school activities and volunteered as a home-room teachers assistant. Once the grandchildren came along, her love and devotion spilled over to them as well.
Freda had a passion for serving, especially when it came to children. She was continually active in the children’s ministries within her church. Freda was the type of person that never met a stranger and was greatly loved by everyone who knew her.
From Edmond, she and Randy moved to Wynnewood prior to moving to Davis in 2013, to be closer to her children. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts and quilting.
Survivors include her husband, Randy; her three daughters, Sandi Lee Rivers and husband Toby of Midwest City, Amy Jean Jo Wilmes and husband Adam of Denton, Texas, and Brandy Denah Mason Koch and husband Daniel of Davis; her beloved 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as her best friend of 36 years, Caren King of Arkansas.
In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Vaughn; two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Abigail Zippro; one sister, Shyrel McBee; and two brothers, Kenneth and Charles Barnes.
Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
