Bobby Deen “Cotton” Slaughter

Bobby Deen “Cotton” Slaughter, a resident of Sulphur, was born Feb. 23, 1943, in Sulphur to Arvil and Leoria (Patrick)  Slaughter.  He died March 29, 2022, in Sulphur.
Slaughter grew up in the Mill Creek area, graduating from Mill Creek High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Dena Gay on Nov. 1, 1963.   They lived in Newton, Kan. for 34 years before moving to Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas before retiring in Sulphur in 2007.
Slaughter is survived by his wife: Dena Slaughter of  Sulphur; daughters: Gaye Lynne Wray of Newton, Kan. and Deneen Fayette of Wichita, Kan.; 2 brothers: Jim Slaughter of Oregon; and Bill Slaughter of Sulphur; 2 sisters: Geraldine Niblett of Newton, Kan.; and Unda Trice of Tishomingo; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great- grandchildren.
Services were April 2, 2022, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek  with Rev. Darryl Patrick officiating. Interment followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
