Davis’ two track teams competed last week at the Canadian Valley Conference Meet in Pauls Valley then hosted their own meet at the Wolves’ track.
At the conference meet April 19, the Lady Wolves’ 4×100 relay team (Jacie LaNoy, Kensley Barnes, Chloe Summers and Shelby Courtney) placed fourth.
The 4×200 relay team (Summers, Cassidy Parsons, LaNoy and Courtney) finished fourth as well.
The 4×400 relay team (Summers, Parsons, LaNoy and Tylisha McDonald) placed fifth.
Individually, Courtney finished third in the 100-meter dash.
Sophomore Jake Hefley was the only member of the boys’ team to place at the conference meet. He placed third in the 800-meter run.
The Wolves hosted a meet April 22 and welcomed 19 schools to Davis.
The Lady Wolves’ 4×100 team (LaNoy, Parsons, Summers and Courtney) ran its best time of the season and finished third. The 4×200 relay team (LaNoy, Parsons, Summers and Courtney) placed third.
Summers finished fifth in the 200-meter dash and Madison Adams placed third in the high jump.
No member of the boys’ team placed at the Davis Meet.
The Wolves welcomed senior Tuff Hammons who made his return this week to athletic competition.
He’s been out six months rehabilitating from a leg injury suffered Oct. 14 in a football game at Marlow.
Hammons ran the 100-meter dash at the conference meet and ran the anchor-leg of the 4×100 relay at the Davis Meet.
