Welty advances to state representing DHS Golf

Senior Jaysen Welty shot a 188 May 2 at the Class 2A Regional Tournament at Falconhead and qualified for next week’s State Tounament at Guthrie. Based on 36 holes, Welty scored 90 the first round and 98 in the second round.
The state tournament will be May 9-10 in Guthrie. Welty will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
As a team, the Wolves just missed the cut on qualifying for State. The top six teams advanced and Davis finished seventh.
Individual scores for the Wolves included: Fisher Smith 100/97-197, Rance Digby 102/113-215, Dee Idleman 112/104-216 and Logan Boley 122/117-239.
The Davis girls team competed April 26 at the Class 2A West Regional Tournament at Falconhead. The Lady Wolves shot a team score of 535 and failed to qualify for the state tournament.
Presley Smith led the team with a round of 119. Other individual scores included: Tinsley Pletcher 135, Shelby Moring 139, Elisabeth Adams 142 and Stella Baker 146.
