Davis Man Sustains Injuries After Accident

A Davis man was injured in an accident on Buel Green Road on July 2 when, for an unknown reason, he departed the roadway and struck a stationary crane used for construction.
The accident happened approximately 4 miles north and 1 mile west of Sulphur at 6:58 a.m. Matthew A. Gonzales, of Davis, was transported by Murray County EMS to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and later transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He was admitted in stable condition with head, leg and trunk internal injuries.
Gonzales was pinned for approximately 24 minutes and freed by the Sulphur Fire Department using the Hurst tool.
The cause and the condition of the driver are pending investigation. Seatbelts were equipped but not in use. Airbags deployed in Gonzales’s vehicle.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Chris Earnhart and he was assisted by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office, Sulphur Fire Department, Murray County EMS and Air Evac.
