Jackson Neil “Jack” Melton

Jackson Neil “Jack” Melton, was born March 31, 1942, to Pinkney H. and Eileen (Jackson) Melton in Oklahoma City, Okla. He passed away on Tuesday Aug. 16, 2022, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Jack  grew up in Oklahoma City and Hobart, graduating from Hobart High School. He had worked in sales with Toms Peanuts and later Melton Janitorial Supplies. Jack served as a church deacon for 34 years. He was a member of Crossway Baptist Church. He served in the US Air Force and the National Guard. In June of 197, he saved 3 people from drowning at Lake Vanderwork and was awarded a certificate of merit for his actions.
Jack and Dixie Coats were married on Aug. 7, 1999, in Sulphur.
Melton is survived by his wife: Dixie; son: Allen Melton and wife Marcie; step-daughter:  Rhea and husband Jeremy; step-son: Brian and wife Tara;12 grandchildren: Alathea and Caleb Melton, Sean Samson, Micah, Ella, Madeline, Olivia, and Elizabeth Gilliland, Austin, Christopher, Colby and Hope Matlock.
A Memorial Service was held Aug. 20, 2022, at 11 a.m.  at Crossway Baptist Church  with Rev Bill Leveridge  officiating.
