Clifford Leon Johnson

Funeral services for Clifford Leon Johnson will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at Crossway First Baptist Church Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Johnson was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Sulphur to the late Merle R. and Elsie V. (Young) Johnson. He died on Sept. 6, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 74 years and 13 days.
Johnson was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. Following his 1967 graduation from Sulphur High School, he continued his education at Murray State College in Tishomingo. He then spent the next over 20 years working for the State of Oklahoma Department of Motor Vehicles and an enforcement officer. He also devoted 20 years of service to the Sulphur Fire Department.
Survivors include his beloved sister, Retha Robbins of Kennedale, Texas; numerous cousins, including Darla Williams of Shawnee, and Marlene Isenberg of Durant; and his best friend, Denny Stacy, whom he revered as a brother.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
