Lady Wolves are Fourth in District Play

The Lady Wolves softball team hit the road this past week and played three district games as they prepare for the end of the regular season.
Davis clinched fourth place in District 3A-2 Sept. 13 with a doubleheader sweep at Riverside. The Lady Wolves lost at Lindsay on Sept. 15 in a game that completed that series.
Davis 12, Riverside 0 (3)
The Lady Wolves scored five runs in the first and seven in the second. Davis had three hits against Riverside in the first game.
Alexis Barnes singled in the first. Shelby Courtney hit a bases-loaded double in the first and Paige Miller belted a bases-loaded triple in the second.
Davis benefited from two hit-by-pitch and 12 walks.
Courtney started at pitcher and faced six batters in two innings. She no-hit the Lady Braves and struck out two.
Addison Danker worked the final inning and posted two strikeouts.
Davis 13, Riverside 0 (3)
The Lady Wolves scored two runs in the first and 11 in the second. Davis recorded 13 hits, four walks and stole 12 bases.
Riverside registered six hits in the second game but committed four errors defensively.
Miller went 3-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Barnes was 2-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Charlee Donaho hit a pair of RBI-doubles. Jacobi LaNoy was 2-2 with an RBI.
Danker and Cayden Boatright both were 1-2 with a run scored. Adison Ryan was 1-1 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.
Lindsay 5, Davis 0
The two teams were scoreless in the first two innings. Lindsay broke the tie with a run in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth. All five runs scored were unearned.
Davis had three hits against the Leopardettes.
Headed into this week’s games, the Lady Wolves were 11-16 overall and 6-5 in league play. Davis was to play its final district contest Sept. 19 at Comanche in a game originally postponed due to inclement weather.
The Lady Wolves played at Tishomingo Sept. 20 and were scheduled to host a team this week from District 3A-1 in a play-in game for the Regional Tournament. Lady Wolves Senior Night will be Thursay Sept. 22 at 5:30 p.m..
