Davis Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Deputy Brandon Eddy, of the Murray County Sheriffs Office, made a drug trafficking arrest on Oct. 18. While patrolling the county on the south side of Davis around 8:20 p.m., Deputy Eddy noticed a vehicle with a defective taillight driving erratically.
The driver of the vehicle sped down Knapp Road. Once Deputy Eddy successfully stopped the vehicle, he identified the driver as Travis Dale Hickey, 60, of Davis. Hickey’s appearance and demeanor suggested the use of methamphetamine could be likely. Deputy Eddy is familiar with Hickey from years of work in the area. Deputy Eddy was able to locate over 22 grams of crystal methamphetamine on Hickey’s person. After a brief conversation, Hickey was booked into the Murray County Jail, for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia without incident.
Deputies Charline Bates, Daniel Rogers and Blake Clifton assisted in the case. This is the second trafficking case developed by Sheriff Darin Rogers office in as many weeks. Sheriff Rogers wants to express to the community this type of behavior will not be tolerated and his office will work to keep this great county safe.
