Davis Firemen Fight Blaze at Arbuckle Event Center

ARBUCKLE EVENT CENTER. Fire broke out at the Arbuckle Event Center on Nov. 16. No injuries were reported and no animals from Arbuckle Wilderness were harmed. The Fire Marshal is investigating the blaze. Several area departments assisted the Davis Fire Department in the fighting the fire.

Volunteer firefighters with the Davis Fire Department were paged and responded to a structure fire at the Arbuckle Event Center, near Arbuckle Wilderness around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 17.
Davis Fire Chief Dusty Parsons said that “Upon arrival the southwest structure was fully engulfed and spreading to the new structure, the east structure and to the grass.”
Initial response included Engine 1, Ladder 1, Tanker 1 and Squad 1. Engine one started a defensive attack on the southwest structure. A small fire that had spread to the northwest and east structures was distinguised.
Additional tankers were requested from Dougherty, Joy, Springer and Smokey Valley.
Ladder 1 provided structure protection for surrounding buildings. Firemen extinguished fires on all three structures.
Chief Parsons said that the State Fire Marshal was contacted and the scene was secured until the State Fire Marshal started the initial investigation.
