Jackie Don Stanford
Jackie Don Stanford was born Feb. 21, 1958, in Sulphur, to the late Lovis Charles and Dorothy Sue (Dodson) Stanford. He died Nov. 18, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 64.
Jackie, better known as Jack, grew up in Sulphur. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and devoted 13 years of service to our country. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy on April 9, 1990, Stanford made his home Longview, Texas, for a few years, before returning to Sulphur.
Once back home in Sulphur, Stanford spent several years working as a machinist in the oil field industry. He then ventured into business, owning and operating Fat Jack’s Bar in Sulphur for several years. After selling the business, Jack returned to the oil field business as a contractor, as well doing machine work with Kerr Pumps of Sulphur.
Survivors include his daughter, Whitney Ogle of Oklahoma City; two sons, Lesslie Stanford, and Cameron Stanford, both of Moore; his two grandsons; as well as two sisters, Shana Kinslow and Donna Denise Stanford; and five brothers, Jerry Dean Stanford, Tommy Joe Stanford, Bobby Jones, Victor Lucas and Buddy Stanford.
Funeral services were Nov. 28, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Sulphur, with Pastor Willard McCartney Jr. officiating. Interment, with military honor provided by the United States Navy, will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
