Chamber of Commerce Seeks Community Participation for Joint Banquet Awards

The Davis and Sulphur Chambers of Commerce are gearing up to celebrate 2022 and honor those who helped make Davis and Sulphur a great place to live, work and raise a family. This year’s chamber banquet is “More Than Meets the Eye,” a Masquerade Banquet. It will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9.
The Davis Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for Small Business of the Year and Large Business of the Year. Past winners include Iron Wolf for Small Business of the Year and Physical Therapy Central for Large Business of the Year. Both businesses were recognized for their involvement in the community and help extended above and beyond their given profession.
Last year the Davis Fire Department took home Murray County Civic Club of the Year honors. The Davis Fire Department holds educational events at Fire Prevention Week for Davis Elementary students, fundraiser for different causes throughout the community not to mention risking life and limb to ensure our safety and help us in our time of need.
The Helen Webber Citizen of the Year Award is given to a Davis resident that serves the community in any capacity needed. Individuals bestowed this honor often volunteer for countless organizations, give professionally and philanthropically (almost always behind the scenes and asking for no recognition) and have the best interest of Davis at heart. Winners of this award include: Jane Carter, Clint Grinstead, Jennie Melton and Chris Foster.
To nominate a business, civic group or individual for any of these awards please go to Page 4, open the camera on your smart phone and click the link that appears. A nomination form for the QR code that you chose will appear.
Fill out the form and follow the prompts to submit the form. Any Davis business, civic group or business is eligible for these awards.
If you would like paper nomination forms, please visit the Davis Chamber of Commerce at 100 E. Main Street. Nominations are due by Friday, Jan. 13.
