Oma Jane “Jannie” Jones

Oma Jane “Jannie” Jones was born Jan. 12, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Shirley Joe “Bubby” and Minnie Christine (Sutterfield) Todd. She died Feb. 27, 2023, in Sulphur, at the ag of 64. She and J.C. Jones, Jr. were united in marriage on Sept. 27, 1976, in Sulphur. From this union were born three children, Jackie, JoAnn, and J.C. Jones, III.
Jones grew up in Dougherty, attending Dougherty Elementary School, prior to attending Sulphur Public Schools. Throughout her life, she was always proud to be known as a “Dougherty Girl!” In 1997, she obtained her Medical Assistant Certification.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Jones, Jr.; two daughters, Jackie Harrison of Sulphur, and JoAnn Braun of New Braunfels, Texas; one son, J.C. Jones, III; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Wiles of Dougherty, Mary Gibson and Velda Holden, both of Sulphur; and one brother, David Todd of Durant.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur.
Services were entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
