Davis Public Library to start Friends of the Library Group

Join Davis Public Library and Parker Memorial Library for a meeting to discuss starting a Friends of the Library group for the libraries on Tuesday, March 28 at 5 p.m. Looking to start either a Murray County Friends group or local groups for each library. We will answer questions regarding how to start and run the group. Friends of Libraries are non-profit, charitable groups formed to support libraries in their communities. This program is free and open to the public. Meeting to be conducted at the Davis Public Library, 209 East Benton, Davis.
“Friends of the Library groups are vital to libraries and their community,” said Library Branch Manager Jonathan Edwards. “Either the support is volunteering to help out at a library program, fundraiser, or function, efforts from Friends of the Library groups make a big impact with our community and libraries.”
Anyone interested in becoming an active supporter of the Davis Public Library can join the Friends of the Davis Public Library Group. Friends of Libraries are non-profit, charitable groups formed to support libraries in their communities. And by the Southern Oklahoma Library System in part with a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and made possible by funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
