Brendan Pierce earns All-Conference Honors at Golf Tournament in Sulphur

The Davis golf season continued in full swing last week with both teams competing in two tournaments. Highlighting the action was Brendyn Pierce who earned all-conference honors.
The Wolves played at Sulphur Hills Golf Course on April 3. Davis shot a team total of 368.
Pierce led the Wolves’ scoring with a round of 85. Rance Digby shot 90, Levi Laxton recorded 96 and Fisher Smith posted 97. Nick Pruitt also played and shot 127.
The Wolves played again the next day, April 4, in the conference tournament at the Purcell Golf Course. Pierce again paced Davis and finished tenth among the top 40 golfers. The freshman shot an 88, the cusp for those receiving accolades.
“He was right on the line, but he made it,” said Davis golf coach Tony West.
As a team, the Wolves shot a combined 401. After Pierce, Fisher Smith registered 96. Houston Dixon-Phillips shot 107, Digby 110 and Pruitt 120.
The Lady Wolves recorded a 417 total on April 6 at Sulphur. Preslee Hunt finished as the team’s top scorer with 97. Shelby Moring shot 99.
Presley Smith posted 107, Stella Baker recorded 114 and Aubrey Doss shot 118. Ryleigh Eaves played as well and recorded 128.
The Lady Wolves played on April 7 at the Falconhead Resort & Country Club in Burneyville. Davis finished with a 449 total.
Moring led the Lady Wolves in this tourney with 100. Presley Smith and Baker both shot 112. Doss and Eaves each posted 135.
The Lady Wolves competed on April 10 in their conference tournament at Purcell. Davis will play in the Class 2A/3A Qualifier on April 18 at the Tishomingo Golf & Recreation Club.
The Wolves will travel to the Atoka Trails Golf Course for a tournament on April 13. Davis is scheduled to compete on April 19 at the Generations Golf Course in Marlow.
