Larry Gene Beam

Funeral services for Larry Gene Beam will be held at 10 a.m., (today) Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, in Sulphur, with Pastor Dick Terry officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Beam was born Feb. 10, 1946, north of Lindsay, to the late Albert “Buck” and Juanita (Colbert) Beam. He died on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, in Sulphur, at the age of 77.
He grew up in Lindsay. After graduating from Linsday High School, he served in the United States Army, 1966-68, with one tour of Vietnam. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, Beam returned home and began a 30-year career in law enforcement with the Pauls Valley police department, retiring in 2008 as the Assistant Police Chief.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Gene Beam Jr. of Woodward, Jason Lawson and Justin Lawson both of Sulphur; three daughters, Janette Murphy of Granby, Mo., Sunni Lynn Beam of Norman, and Jennifer Lawson of Hurst, Texas; as well as 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
