Terry Lee Walker

June 29, 1976 – Nov. 4, 2023
• The son of Leland Walker and Ruth “Vandiver” Walker, Terry was born on June 29, 1976 in Ardmore, and passed away on Nov. 4, 2023, in OU Medical Center Hospital at the age of 47 years, 4 months and 5 days.
He was a resident of Southern Oklahoma all his life, Terry graduated from Marietta High School, 1995. He worked for Smith Construction and then Oklahoma Department of Transportation. After 25 years of loyal and dedicated service with ODOT, he medically retired August 2023. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling, camping, buying equipment, cattle, working on his farm, and chasing his chosen “kiddos,” there was always something happening. Terry was a member of the Milo Baptist Church, Springer Volunteer Fire Department and Texoma Football Official Association.
He leaves to cherish his memories; the love of his life, his wife Rhonda Barnes Walker of Springer; parents, Leland and Ruth Walker of Springer; sister, Dalhia Walker of Springer; mother in law, Wilma Barnes of the home; and his boys, Bandit, Blue and Jinks; nieces, Michelle Faulkner, Kimberly Phelps and Ashley Lewis; nephews, Aro Allen, Brandon Faulkner and Jacob Herrington; great nephews, Elijah Mims and Brantley Faulkner and great nieces, Gabriella Mims, Kylie and Rebecca Phelps; precious children that he helped raise from the Meeks, Wells, Payne and Lawson crews, Emma Joe, Gatlin, Cobi Jo, Clancy, Lenora, Kaydon, Maddie, Zane and Katie as well as their many friends whose lives he touched.
Terry was a jack of all trades and never shied away from a good side job, from driving a personnel bus for the Refinery Turn Around Crews to refereeing High School Football games. He was always busy doing something. He loved tending to his farm and cattle and spent much of his spare time helping friends with any project. Terry and Rhonda were avid travelers and enjoyed many adventures all over the world with friends and family, lovingly called The Herd. While Terry and Rhonda did not have children of their own, they were parents all the same. Their home was a haven for kids old and young. Terry himself was the biggest kid at heart. His many sayings, antics and laughter will be forever remembered by those that loved him. Terry was as dependable and loyal as they come in every aspect of his life from start to finish. He was your first call in a pinch and never failed to save the day. He had an incredible sense of humor, and was always up for a good prank or joke. He had a knack for telling stories and always left everyone in the room with a smile.
There is only one fitting way to sum up your life Terry, You were truly one in a million. You were a legend.
You will live on for generations to come in the hearts, minds and stories of your family, friends and the many kids whose lives you have touched. You Will Be Terribly Missed, But We Have This Promise, We Will See You Soon!
