Herbert “Don” Adams

Herbert “Don” Adams was born in Mize, Ky., on Feb. 12, 1935, to Orville and Nancy Adams. He grew up in Kentucky and later moved to California, where he spent most of his life.
Adams met his wife, Ethel Adams in California and was married in 1961. They were married 63 years and had four children.
Adams drove a semi-truck all over the country for years. He also worked for United Artist for ten years. He loved horses, rode in parades, and was active in horse gymkhana events with his horse, Ba-Shiek.
He and his wife relocated to Sulphur in 2000. He and his wife owned and operated an antique store, Ethel’s Collectibles.
Adams passed away on March 30, 2024, in his home, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 89 years old. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Ethel; four children, son David Allen of California, daughter Sandra Glasgow of California, daughter Sue Hughes of Oklahoma, and son Don Adams Jr. of California; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brother Dale Adams and brother Paul Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Sulphur, with the Reverend Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur. Family visitation will be held Thursday evening, April 4, from 6 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
