Raymond Howard Staggs

Graveside services for Raymond Howard Staggs will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, with Pastors Alan McCoy and Mark Smith officiating.
Staggs was born March 3, 1931, east of Dibble, to John Howard and Flora (Cooper) Staggs. He died on June 27, 2021, in Norman, at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 24 days. He and the former Ms. Helen Vinson were married on April 21, 1953, in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage prior to Helen’s passing on June 18, 2020. From this union were born three children, Steve, Connie and Stan.
Staggs grew up in the Dibble area. He served in the United States Army from the spring of 1953 until he was Honorably discharged in 1955. He spent 25 years working in maintenance, and any other areas needed, for the Dibble Public School System. In the earlier years of their marriage, he served as a pastor, pastoring in several churches. He was also instrumental in forming the Midway Southern Baptist Church, where soon after opening, he became the pastor.
Survivors include his three children, son, Steven R. Staggs; daughter, Connie F. Morris; and son, Stanley D. Staggs; all of Lindsay; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one sister, Lola Mottinger.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
