Stuart “Chuck” Smith

Stuart “Chuck” Smith Jr. a resident of Sulphur was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Inglewood, Calif. to  Stuart and Virginia (Brinkman) Smith.  He died Aug. 5, 2022, in Ada at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 22 days.
Smith graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, Calif., in 1960. He was drafted into the US Army in 1962 and was in the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1966. Smith loved working on cars and opened his first service station in Pasadena, Calif., in 1966. In April 1970, he met the love of his life Pamela Smith and he married her on May 9, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1983 he moved his family to Sulphur.  In 1984, he opened Smith’s Outdoor Center. He started working for Walmart as a mechanic until his retirement in 2009.
Smith is survived by his daughter: Marie Smith Womack of Sulphur; granddaughter: Erika Phillips of  Sulphur; grandson: Gunner Smith of  Norman; and sister:  Ellen Peralta of California.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev Dick Terry. Services are under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.dearmanfuneralhome.com.
